Game of Royal Jewelers released in three languages
Sausalito, CA; Paris, France - April 21, 2003 - Days of Wonder, Inc. announced today that the new character card game Queen's Necklace is now available at game stores and online game retailers in both North America and Europe. The company simultaneously released English, French and German editions of the Bruno Cathala/Bruno Faidutti designed 2-4 player game. Suggested retail price in the US is $24.95 and €26.50 in most of Europe.
Queen's Necklace players take the role of Royal Jewelers vying to sell rare jewels to the Queen and her court in Paris before the French Revolution. 110 oversize cards represent the jewels and various characters inhabiting the court. Each player must best decide how to spend their hard-earned ducats: on the acquisition of beautiful gems - diamonds, emeralds, and rubies; or to buy the favors of the various court followers. After three years of craftsmanship, the jeweler who sells the most precious gems and builds the largest fortune will receive the coveted title of King's Jeweler and a place at the Court!
Days of Wonder is also developing Queen's Necklace Online - a web-based version expected to be available later this Spring. Purchasers of Queen's Necklace will receive a Days of Wonder Webcard providing free access to Queen's Necklace Online, where they can play against other opponents, compete in tournaments, measure their online rank, and schedule online play with their friends. The website at www.queens-necklace.com will also host online forums and interactive tutorials to help new players learn how to play.
