NEW French Army Rules Sun, 22 September 2013 18:00
Nations 1 reference card is for the French Resistance, i.e. 3-fig French Partisans battling the Axis in occupied France. (Partisans in other countries may use these rules for their units, too.)

Nations 7 reference card (introduced with Equipment Pack) is the French Army. I believe this includes several army types in various scenarios:

1. French Army in 1940.
2. Free-French Forces in Italian East Africa.
3. Free-French Forces in the North African desert.
4. Vichy-French Forces (Axis).
5. French Forces liberating France under U.S. Allied command (e.g. 1st French Army).

I've played several African scenarios using the French Army rule. So far the "Stay in Place" attack hasn't occurred very often, and I've only scored one kill with it. It seems similar to the rarity of BCF "Battle Back" rule, though I've had games where British had 4 or 5 bonus shots.

1. FRENCH ARMY May-June 1940:
Across the Meuse, Allies: 47%
Breakthrough to Gembloux, Allies: 49%. BT
Battle of Abbeville, Allies: 77%. BT
Counter Attack of the BEF. Allies: 44%. BT
Dunkirk. Allies: 40%?
Cadets of Saumur. Allies: 50%. OL
Canal De La Haute Colme, EP
The Bourbourg - Brouckerque Line, EP
*These previous two scenarios can be combined for an Overlord game
Battle of "La Seigne" Pass, SFTF by jdrommel.

2. FREE FRENCH IN EAST AFRICA, SFTF by jdrommel:
I've mentioned these before in other threads but will repeat for consistency. All are French vs. Italians (Nations 6), and I recommend playing with Italian High Command (start w/6 cards) plus 1d Allied Air Power.
[Eritrea] French Cavalry's Charge, January 1941.
[Eritrea] Battle of Cub-Cub, Feb. 1941.
[Eritrea] Storm on Massawa, April 1941.

3a. NORTH AFRICAN DESERT, OFFICIAL:
The Oath of Kufra, Feb.-March, 1941.

3b. NORTH AFRICAN DESERT, SFTF by jdrommel:
Where the main Axis force is the Italians, I recommend playing with Italian High Command rule (start w/6 cards).
[Desert war] Capture of Bardia, January 1941. with BCF (Nations 5) & Free French
[Desert war] Bir Hakeim - Action 1, May 1942. vs Italians (Nations 6)
[Desert war] Bir Hakeim - Action 2, June 1942.
[Desert war] Bir Hakeim - Action 3, June 1942.
[Desert war] Bir Hakeim - Action 4, June 1942.
[Desert war] Qaret El Himeimat, Oct. 1942. vs Italians (Nations 6)
[2ème DB] The Fezzan Campaign, Jan. 1943. vs Italians (Nations 6)
[2ème DB] Ksar Rhilane, March 1943.
[Tunisia] Takrouna - Action 2, May 1943.

4. VICHY FRENCH FORCES (AXIS), SFTF by jdrommel:
[Gabon] Landing near Libreville, Nov. 1940. Vichy vs Free-French.
[Madagascar] Capture of Diego Suarez, May 1942. Vichy vs BCF (Nations 5).
[Russia] Combing Operation, Jan. 1943. Vichy vs "Russian Resistance" & Commissar (Nations 1 & 2).
[French Resistance] The tragedy of Glieres maquis, March 1944. Vichy vs French Resistance (Nations 1).

I played one of the official scenarios that follow with French Rules. As you can see by win %, they mostly favor the Allied side already so adding a bonus to them might not be fair. (However, Air Rules are added to some of these scenarios to help the disadvantaged side so you could add both!)

5a. LIBERATION OF FRANCE, OFFICIAL, August 1944-
Ecouves Forest, Allies: 61%
Liberation of Paris, Allies: 75%
Hôtel Meurice, Allies: ~38%
Toulon, Allies: 67%
"Tissu Est Dans Iode", Allies: 100%?
Road of Dabo, Allies: 70%
Saverne Gap, Allies: 47%
Strasbourg, Allies: 68%
The Hell of Grussenheim, Allies: ~39%

5b. LIBERATION OF FRANCE, SFTF by jdrommel
[Corsica] Teghime Pass, October 1943. Allied Italian Artillery?
[Normandy] The attack of the Casino strongpoint, June 1944.
[Normandy] Tank trap in the Ecouves forest, August 1944. BT

Nearly all the above scenarios do not state French Army rules are in effect. So it may be fun to use them as a variant. I'll probably ask jdrommel if he wants to update his scenarios to French Army as standard, as he did for his East African scenarios.
