A very decisive battle the axis managed to hold the town and soak up the allies command cards of the left and centre flank. the axis counter attacked down their left flank being the radoshkovichi highway destroying the aliied armour with a well timed armour assault card. |
Slight modifications were made to give the Germans a better chance. So the question is: did it balance the game or were the Russians just too lucky in game 1?
Seeing as how the Allies had probably two opportunities to win and rolled about 50% flags on the last 2 or 3 turns, it seems that the game is balanced or still favors the Allies. I think this game was more eenly matched but the "timely rolling" favored the Axis and let them get the ultimate win.
*Note: I will probably need to change the score: only 5 medals are needed to win. The 5th and 6th came from two seperate battles. But I am not sure what the final consensus was on VMs - do you collect as many as you can until the turn is over? Or is the game over once you reach the victory condiditions? |
This scenario is interesting but needs some tweaking. The Allies won too easily. Granted, there were some really good draws and dice rolls, but a lot of the things to protect the Germans were insufficient and the Allies blasted them too easily. The score was 2-1 Allies when they pulled "Their Finest Hour" and destroyed two units and captured the bridge as part of an Armor Overrun. The game was over in about 4 or 5 rounds.
Bryce is working on some modifications that should make it harder on the Russians to win so easily. It should also spread the attack instead of the prime goal being a single flank battle. |
