Scénario Introductif
Les allemands grattent les unités belges en première ligne grâce a des tirs lointain et des attaques aériennes. Les belges ce jour là sont dotés d'un commandement catastrophique donnant des ordres inadaptés ce qui empêche une riposte efficace. La première ligne tombée, les belges se replient derrière la rivière. S'ensuit une guerre de position qui aboutit à la destruction d'une unité allemande ainsi que l'affaiblissement de l’artillerie belge. Une tentative de traverser le pont des allemands se solde par un échec et la destruction de la deuxième unité d'infanterie allemande sur le pont. Une attaque des Allemands mieux organisée à travers le gué menant à Bodange permet la fin de l'opération en achevant une unité d'infanterie belge affaiblie et l’artillerie malgré une embuscade tendue par celle-ci.

The Wehrmacht captured Wissembach in two turns and cleared the entire Belgian right flank of enemy units one turn later. Staring at a 0-3 medal deficit, the Belgian army opted to concentrate their limited forces in Bodange in the hopes of slowing the German advance. But a badly disrupted command structure (Belgium could order no units during its last two turns due to a lack of Center cards) sealed Bodange's fate. Grand Campaign points: Germany 1, Allies 0.

Bodange - both German armor units again were destroyed, but the Germans took Wissembach. Then the German left was able to turn toward Bodage. A big fight in the center resulting in many casualties and the allies fled.

Début de partie assez équilibrée avec un petit avantage aux belges qui mènent jusqu’à 3/2 ,mais ensuite la machine allemande ce met en marche telle un rouleau compresseur celui ci est invincible ,frappant ou il le veut quand il le veut ,a la fin il ne reste que 2 unités ,une d'infanterie et l'unité d'artillerie ,mon adversaire a très bien joué sans jamais trop se découvrir.
Toutes les parties se jouent avec les cartes de combats et je dois avouer que cela donne vraiment du piment au jeu ,je le recommande a tous.

Tough for the allies. Not many units or much maneuverability. Lost units on left flank and those command cards became useless in my hand. The Germans have overwhelming numbers and can slowly move up and take apart isolated units. It was a gradual demise for the allies. Perhaps a better strategy would be to group units together better (but lose the sandbags) and form better fire groups. Played with opponent drawing two cards and playing both. Tough scenario for Allies

Johan uses back to back ARMOR ASSAULTS to move his arty in Bodange.
After I had hit the Belgium infantry twice in Wissembach that unit recovers both hits with M & M. A turn later Johan charges infantry forward on my left and right but his attacks do not go well.
I then attack on my right -- my plane finishes off the arty which it hit the turn before and in spite of one of my infantry being hit three times by AMBUSH I kill off an infantry on my right to lead 2 to 0.
A turn later my plane would get one hit on a center infantry and my left panzer would wipe out an infantry on the bridge. I would kill off the 3 fig infantry on the ford near Bodange with the help of my plane which not only hit it but cut off its retreat path.
After another Belgium infantry charges across the bridge it whiffs on my 1 fig panzer with 3 dice. I then use AIR POWER and bring on a plane into the center which kills off a 1 fig infantry there.
My planes ruled the skies and the battlefield here -- I was lucky to have drawn the other AS card and the AP card which helped me keep a plane in the air for a good deal of the game.

Early on both sides advanced their arty 1 hex forward. My arty hit the panzer on the road and then my BEL ordered Elite Infantry advanced out of Wissembach and killed off that 2 fig panzer (now hiding in a woods hex) with 3 dice. I then moved the infantry across the bridge and into the roadblock.
A turn later the arty scores 2 hits on the other panzer on the German center baseline thanks to the ARTILLERY BOMBARD card.
Johan had been busy with a plane in his last 4 turns and its strafing had helped to reduced two center infantry to 1 fig each but missed my arty.
I then played an INF ASSAULT card to setup up a 5d AC on the plane and Johan elected not to order it on his next turn. His arty killed off a 1 fig center infantry and the game was tied 1 to 1. I then charged my left infantry and one of my center infantry over the bridge. My arty missed a shot vs the 1 fig panzer. I scored 2 hits on an infantry on my left and another on a baseline infantry on my right.
A German MOVE OUT surrounds my left elite infantry which had advanced past the Hedgehogs but 7 shots later is was still there although reduced to 1 fig.
I then killed off the panzer with my arty and my infantry moved adjacent to a 3 fig baseline infantry on my right and got 2 more hits on it.
Johan then plays TFH and rolls INF -- STR for orders. He chooses his arty and an infantry and tries to get rid of my infantry which had charged over the bridge. I played AMBUSH on his first infantry to attack but had no chance to negate its attack as it was on the baseline. I got 2 hits on it. His 4 shots gets a hit and flag and his arty kills off my left 1 fig infantry for a 2 to 2 tie. I then advance another of my right infantry onto the bridge -- I have two attacks setup -- 1 shot vs a 1 fig baseline infantry and 3 dice vs a 2 fig baseline infantry but I whiff on both attacks -- I had hoped for 2 medals but did not even get a hit.
A German firefight easily kills off my 3 fig infantry across the river and now it is a 3 to 2 German lead. But my infantry on the bridge presses forward and with the help of the arty kills off the 2 fig baseline infantry.
A turn later that same infantry (now firing 2d from the trees ) kills off the 1 fig baseline infantry and my Allies lead 4 to 3.
Another German plane comes on to interdict my infantry in the woods by the bridge and the arty gets a hit on it.
I then pull back a 1 fig center infantry so as to get out of arty range. The Germans then play a DIG IN and their plane has to go. I charge my infantry out of the woods and get 2 hits on the baseline sandbag infantry in the center but my arty misses the kill on that unit with its 1 shot.
I then lose my center infantry and the game is tied 4 to 4. My arty misses that same 1 fig infantry on my next turn -- dang it!
But my BEL orders my last right infantry over the bridge and through the woods (but not to grandmothers house -- lol) and its 2 shot attack finally kills off the center 1 fig infantry to end the game!!

I played BEL on my first turn and wiped the panzer on the baseline road for a quick 1 to 0 lead.
My infantry was then retreated out of Wissenbach. That town and the hill next to it was then occupied by German infantry.
Several turns later I lost my infantry in the town hex on my left.
The battle then shifted back to the area around Wissenbach with both sides losing infantry units near the bridge -- the Germans losing its infantry to an AMBUSH. I also picked off a baseline 1 fig panzer but lost heavily to a German FIREFIGHT so that made it a 3 to 3 score.
I had drawn the BARRAGE card so I had hoped to finish off a 2 fig infantry near the bridge with 2 shots then use the BARRAGE on the German right to end the game. Well one of my 2 shots missed and then my brave 2 fig infantry which had crossed the bridge to make its 1d attack was then eliminated.
The 1 fig German infantry also was able to move into the far corner away from my arty on the INF ASSAULT card.
Trailing 3 to 4 and having a 1 fig infantry of my own on my baseline (behind sandbags thanks to the DIG IN card) I figured I might as well bump up the score and use my BARRAGE before it was too late. I killed off the 1 fig infantry on my right to tie the score at 4.
The Germans then pushed one infantry across the bridge when I used DHQ to move my last full strength infantry into my center (where I could use either my C 3 or TFH). My arty get 2 hits on the forward German infantry.
Gene then pulled back that unit and advanced his arty so that is could fire on my 1 fig infantry.
It was now or never and I went with the TFH but only rolled one infantry order that I could use. My ordered infantry moved forward and its 3d attack vs the 2 fig Ger infantry ended the game -- a 5 to 4 Belgium win.

In the early game my one of my center panzers gets a hit on the Belgium arty. Later my FIREFIGHT would weaken two infantry units but miss the arty with 2 shots.
My forward center panzer is reduced to 1 fig but my M & M card recovers both figs but then is hit twice next turn. I then pick off the 1 fig infantry in Bodange and after COUNTER-ATTACKing a Belgium 2-2-2 I reduce an infantry on my right to 2 figs and another 1 fig on my left. I play another COUNTER-ATTACK to a Belgium MOVE OUT but fail to kill off either weak unit.
But then on the next Belgium turn my AMBUSH kills off the 1 fig infantry on my right. On my next turn my MOVE OUT kills off the 1 fig infantry on the Wissenback ford to lead 3 to 0.
On my next turn I finish off a 2 fig infantry on my right near the ford. My 1 fig infantry on the bridge is then finished off to make it a 4 to 1 game.
I then move a panzer onto the bridge which is then hit twice. I rush my 1 fig panzer to close assault the 1 fig arty and it does the job with 6 shots.

This was an interesting battle, as we began our Fall Gelb grand campaign.
There was no way Adam was letting his troops out of their cover, so the advance was up to me. I had to take over that city, after all.
I cautiously approached the river, and soon realized that my armor would be of little use against his thoroughly protected units.
We both volleyed a number of shots from our artillery, and I used Artillery Bombard to move mine a bit closer so I could hit more units with 2 dice.
My dice rolls for this battle were ludicrously bad. I could hardly roll anything but ARM when it was time to attack with my infantry. It was just sad. Very sad.
Also, we had left out the ford on the ARF, so my infantry units on that side were trying to squeeze onto the bridge, all congested. That wasn't good. That ford would have helped, I think. We only discovered this blunder later.
I had an incredibly hard time hurting his forces, while he picked my units off from the safety of the forests.

L'armée allemande se déploie (servie par un lourd jeu de cartes) et tente d'affaiblir les défenses avant de passer à l'offensive.
La perte de leur artillerie les contraint à lancer leur attaque. Ils essuient quelques dégâts, mais épuisent les alliés qui n'ont plus de quoi répondre à droite.
Les alliés tentent un assaut désespéré au centre qui éliminent les derniers panzers mais qui les découvrent: c'est la fin!

L'axe a utilisé parfaitement le blitz, elle a éliminé les duex unitées d'infantrie du coté allemands de la rivière. Elle a utilisé les traverses à gué pour venir mettre de la pression sur les autres unitées. Les alliers ont répondu mais trop tard.

It was a close battle with some bad dice on the German side in the beginning brought some advantage to the Allies. But a bad hand of useless Right Section cards slowed the Allies and silenced their artillery long enough for German tanks to break through on the road and hunt down the last remaining Tireur Ardennais.

La bataille commence par un bombardement en règle, des 2 cotés. Les troupes allemandes préparent une offensive importante mais attendent le soutien de l'aviation pour passer à l'attaque.
L'artillerie de l'axe élimine sous un feu nourri la totalité des canons longues portée Belge.
L'aviation fait son apparition et élimine totalement le flanc gauche Allié ainsi que le centre de l'armée alliée qui ne peut que constater les dégats et patienter.
L'armée Belge décide enfin de passer à la contre attaque et lance une offensive massive sur son flanc droit, éliminant 1 unité de Panzers et plusieurs unités adjacentes. Peine perdue l'artillerie Allemande reprend son bombardement et relance son aviation sur les troupes Alliés affaiblies. Victoire Allemande.

heureusement que mes chars me recolle à 3-3. Je fini avec l'artillerie plus les chars au centre sur la ville et par 2 assauts d'infanterie sur le flanc droit.

A slow game for both sides but most of the medals was helped a lot by the plane which stayed quite long in the Bodange skies. Allies spent two turns wasting Right cards and another two turns ordering artillery to hit the German artillery but no result.
In the later game, Allies charged to the front using orders from TFH, but after the attack failed, German retaliated with a big Infantry Assault, ordering 4 infantries and knocked out 2 units at once to win the game in 11 turns.

Germans roll up the French flanks and rapidly get up 3-0, helped by a timely Medics & Mechanics card to repair their spearhead. They got a ton of special cards while the Allied cards were atrocious (Allies forced to pass 3 times.
I think it's a terrible scenario and my impression is not helped by the fact that it's worth a whole victory point in the Fall Gelb campaign.

Les allemands prudents s'avancent pour tirer à distance sur Bodange et Wissembach. Wissembach est prise. Les belges avancent leur artillerie sur l'église de Bodange mais ils manqueront d'efficacité. Les allemands perdent une unité de chars en franchissant le pont. Puis ils passent à l'assaut de Strainchamps à l'aide des Bf109. Le manque de cartes du commandement belge empêche une défense efficace. Finalement, les canons belges sont détruits laissant la victoire aux allemands.

Une bonne mise en jambes pour la grande campagne "unternehmen fall gelb", les allemends ont pris rapidement l' avantage et les alliés se sont accroché sans jamais reprendre l' avantage!
je note que pour le joueur allemand l' obstacle routier est un bon casse tête...

When you set it up it looks like a walkover for the Axis. Then you realise they can only cross the river at three points. The Allied units around Bodange probably need to retire quickly to avoid tank fire from across the river. The performance of the Allied artillery is key. Good fun!
