The Soviets badly underestimated the elite German troops aligned along the Ginlopiat River. The Red Army’s battle plan seemed sound: advance methodically in all three sections to force the Germans to defend across the entire line. But the advance stalled in the left and center sections for lack of command, leaving the Soviet troops in front of Kodnia to attempt a breakthrough. The SS garrison in Kodnia and nearby Tiger tanks eliminated two infantry and one armor unit before abandoning the smoldering village. The Soviets never quite recovered, trying in vain to eliminate enemy units while dodging pinpoint Germany artillery (twice aided by the Spotter Command Card) and Luftwaffe fighters. By Turn 12, the Red Army were compelld to call off its attack with no units having crossed the Ginlopiat.

Ils poussent au centre puis attaquent à droite (toutes) : 5-2. Une infiltration réussit leur donne la victoire.

ryo had rough cards, while I had consistently workable cards and good dice.
Onr German Right infantry advanced toward my Left artillery, but I scored 2 hits on it with part of a TFH, and finished it off when it close-assaulted on the next turn, and I Ambushed for two more hits.
Next, I killed three infantries in Solotvyn, including two that came from the trenches, and my armor scored two hits on the Panzer that against the back wall. During this period, I lost a tank and an infantry in a Firefight.
The Germans scored some more armor hits with a DHQ, but I Counter-Attacked, eliminating two Panzers to bring home the victory.

Malgré un bon début pour les Soviétique, les Allemands effectuèrent une avancé de blindés majeure au 4ieme et 5ieme tour. Ils obtinrent ainsi les trois dernières médailles nécessaire pour mettre un terme à l'affrontement.

Game # 2 of a ftf Match.
I start with FIREFIGHT, 2-2-2, L ALL, L 3, R 1 and 1-1-1.
Dave pushes forward with his CENTER ALL -- moving one center tank into his right. All three of his tank shots vs my infantry miss. My FIREFIGHT kills off a tank in the center and dings another. I also get one hit on an infantry on my left.
The battle then shifts to my left (German RIGHT ALL , Russ LEFT ALL, German COUNTERATTACK). Dave pushes his tanks next to my infantry in Kodnia. In the battle, I lose an infantry but Dave loses one tank and another is reduced to 1 fig. My 2-2-2 see me advance my two infantry out of the right trenches and charge the Russian infantry in the woods. I reduce one of them to one fig. My Tiger moves from the center to my left and my panzer moves forward. I kill off the other tank on my right and have a 3 to 1 lead.
Dave then plays MOVE OUT and causes heavy damage to my center PG infantry in the open (5 hits with 5 shots) but misses my left infantry in Kodnia. I try and end the game by advancing my weakened center infantry to try and take out a 1 fig tank and 1 fig infantry with both attacks succeeding. But an earlier lone arty shot vs a 1 fig infantry on my left missed - still, i have a 5 to 1 lead. Dave finsihes off both my weak center infantry but misses his 2 shots vs my 2 fig infantry in Kodnia again. I then finish off the 3 fig infantry next to Kodnia with 5 shots to win the game (6 to 3) and match 12 to 5.

I started the game with three Left cards ... plus Artillery Bombard, Barrage, and BEL. My first four draws were DHQ, COunter-Attack, and both Move Outs, and I picked up Firefight a little later.
Meanwhile, the Germans had several Right cards, and even though they moved their Tiger and artillery to that section, Russian units in the forests limited any potential German counter-offensive.
A Panzer crossed the center bridge in to the town, so my BEL on turn 5 cut off its retreat, rolled 3 misses, and scampered off the board. The next two turns, my 1-1-1 and Firefight eliminated two Center infantries in trenches and the near unit in Kodnia. (At this point, German tank and artillery fire finished off a 3-figure infantry in the woods on my far left.)
My Firefight had knocked the Center town infantry down to 2 figures, so my second Move Out finished it off. Then, my DHQ went against the last trench unit and rolled 4 hits out of 5 dice. It was just that kind of game.

I start with 2-0-2, L 3, CLOSE ASSAULT, C 2, M & M and C 3.
I play my 2-0-2 and move my left arty up a hex and one of my infantry in the woods. I move my center / right infantry in a center woods hex and fire my arty and get 2 hits on the PG infantry in the town. Dave pulls back his two infantry on my right. My L 3 sees my tank advance to fire at an infantry in the rench along with my arty and their 4 shots get 3 hits. My left / center infantry moves into a center woods. Dave advavances his infantry out of Somaky and charges my left tanks with his 1 fig PF infantry -- they get 2 hits and a flag and take ground.
I play my DHQ advancnig a tank and two infantry next to the infantry in the center town hexes hoping to setup the play of CLOSE ASSAULT in my next turn. I get 3 hits on one infantry with 4 shots and miss the other. My 1 fig tank kills off the 1 fig infantry on my left - I take ground and miss the other infantry in the trench with 2 shots. A German C 3 sees the Tiger come forward into the German left. One infantry gets a hit and flag on my tank. The Tiger flags my infantry next to the town which falls back into the woods. The 1 fig infantry fires 2 shots from the town and finishes off my 2 fig tank. Drat - so much for my CLOSE ASSAULT card.
I use M & M and recover 2 figs to my tank on my left but miss 2 shots vs an infantry in the trench. Another German C 3 sees the German infantry retreat from the town and trench and the panzer move onto the Ger right / center bridge.
My 1-1-1 sees three tanks get into position - one in the center around the town - I kill off a 2 fig infantry on my right, the 1 fig infantry in the center and get 2 hits on an infantry on my left. I now lead 3 to 1. A German MOVE OUT does little damage. My C ALL sees me puch my back infantry forward into woods and my forward infantry into the town. My tank move adjacent to the bridge and takes out the wire. I get 2 hits on a center infantry and 1 hit on the Tiger (with a center tank that moved into my right) but miss the reroll. A German FIREFIGHT kills my forward center tank (7 shots)but misses my right tank (4 shots).
I play my own C 3. I move one tank to the back of the town and my right forward tank into the center woods near the river. I move one of my infantry out of the town and pick off the 1 fig infantry with 2 shots. The Tiger then moves into the center next to the bridge and gets 2 hits and a flag on my infantry.
I then play my ARMOR ASSAULT -- which I sot of hate to do here as only one of my 3 tanks can close with the enemy. But I think I msut try and deal with that Tiger. I move my one of my center tanks onto the bridge next to the Tiger while my other center tank moves back into my right to fire on an infantry in the open there. My other tank on my left will also fire in an infantry in the open. I get 1 hit on my right and 2 on my left vs the infantry. My tank rolls 1 grenade and 3 flags vs the Tiger - this results in 3 hits as the Tiger is only 1 hex from the baseline. A grenade is found on the 3 rerolls and the Tiger is burning and now it is a 5 to 2 Russian lead. Dave only gets 1 hit on his next turn .
I then play L 2 hoping to wipe out one of the two 2 fig infantry over there. My 2 shot arty attacks does just that for a 6 to 2 win.
