Campagne Compass, 10.

Operation Compass Campaign #11, Scenario #10. Variant: 1d Air Power & Italian High Command. 21 Rounds.
Allies had clinched the campaign a couple scenarios ago. I needed a 6-3 win as Italians to win the campaign-match, or 6-4 to tie. I lost, but had a chance to win 6-5 since he missed my lone-fig inf 5 shots in a row. I killed his tank, but missed his lone-fig inf on 1d artillery shot.
British fled center on first turn, taking inf out of 2d artillery range. Italian Artillery moved to oasis then British Artillery advanced to hill, then Italian Artillery went to forest to get in 2d range, but wouldn't get that many shots. Italians got first kill with BEL from Right and moved to Oasis to heal to full. I shifted another out of British 2d artillery range into the open, but tank came across from Right and killed it with 3 hits on 3 dice, and took my Attack-C card! He then healed his tank to full with Mechanics, and I never knocked it below 2 again.
I played my last Center to move my Italians out in the open to my Left, and British were ready for me. I was able to take the lead 4-3, but British came back and won.

Operation Compass Campaign #12, Scenario #10. 1d Air Power & Italian High Command (Start w/6 cards). VASSAL.
Italians did very well at grouping their units in the Center and knowing when to come out to get kills. One of my Center units was knocked down to 1-fig, but escaped with BEL out of artillery range, only to be brought down with Air Power, late in the game.
Italians took the lead twice, but I tied. At 5-5 we each had a 2-fig inf. I had a choice to withdraw mine and risk a 2d shot by artillery or go for the win. Since he was down to 3 cards I took a chance to take the shot for the win, but missed. He launched an Assault-Center and got the kill.
This is the last scenario in my campaign #12 which was previously decided in the Allies favor. But in the Campaign-match score I was down 1. I'll need a 3-point win as Italians to pull it out.

VASSAL. Variant: Italian High Command (start w/6 cards).
Australians closed in from several directions, no doubt setting up for "ping" hits and Firefight. I used BEL to send my rear inf after his inf that couldn't retreat and scored 3 hits. I killed it and then got the feeling Australians were short on Rights, so sent my 3 inf out in the open. I used Infantry Assault-L to get behind his next inf and killed it. He had to send an inf from the Center to his Right, which did get a kill. By the end of the game, that was the only guy he had left in that section.
However, Australians got more kills and stalled my Left attacks by discards (he didn't discard my Dig-In). He tied and led 5-4, having withdrawn a lone-fig inf out of artillery range to his Left. I had a chance to win with Recon-in-Force with 3 targets but needed full hits on 2 of them, and didn't get any. Then I was stuck with 3 Right cards and none there. I finally got my 5th kill in Center to tie, but figured it was over since I had a lone-fig inf in range of his units on my Right. He played Barrage, rolled 3 tanks + 1 flag! I used Armor Assault to kill his lone-fig inf on his baseline-R with 2d for the win.

Air Power sent two Italians to the back (I would roll several flags=hits this game). Instead of bringing tanks and artillery around to shoot from afar, I sent my R-inf across and lost 2. My first kill was from Battle-Back! Because he left his rear bunker, I was able to enter it from wire and kill his inf in the palm forest as an exchange. I used Artillery Bombard to move my art forward 3, but wanted a kill at 2d-range so didn't shoot bunker with 3d. Finally I got my tank going and rolled 3 flags to kill his inf in the open.

This one seems nearly impossible for the Italians. My cousin used an air power to knock out my artillery on the first round, thus taking out the most powerful part of my defense. Then he used his tanks to slowly sap the strength of my defenders in the upper right and lower left flanks. Finally, he had taken out everyone on both flanks and infantry I was trying to revitalize in the oasis, and came in with six infantry from the left flank and through the center.
