Dutch open 2018: Armia Krajowa scenario 1
By: Cpl_Uhl - Last update: 02/03/2019

There are problems with this scenario: it cannot be set-up using the standard terrain tiles of Memoir '44 and the selected extensions. There are too many terrains of one or more types. Please contact the author.

Historical Background:
Operation Tempest - Lublin district - July, 1944, Operation Tempest in the area of Lublin took place in the final two weeks of July 1944. The Armia Krajowa created mainly infantry divisions with support of Polish dragoon units. Altogether, Polish forces in the region had called 20.000 men to arms. Due to the advancing Russians, Generaloberst Georg-Hans Reinhardt retreated his forces to regroup them. The partisans attacked the retreating German forces along railways and roads in the whole district of Lublin. In the south the 9th Infantry Regiment under Major Stanislaw Prus liberated the towns of Belzec & Tomaszów Lubelski and attacked the traffic intersection in the city of Zwierzyniec.

The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Briefing:
Allied player [Armia Krajowa]: 5 command cards, you move first.
Axis player [Germany]: 5 command cards.

Conditions of Victory:
6 medals
Zwierzyniec (3 hexes: church, city & train station) is a Temporary Majority Objective for both players. (The German player starts with this medal)

Special Rules:
- Airpower card for the allied player: 1d per hex (instead of 2d).
- Armia Krajowa troops are represented by thepolish shield and only three figures, they play like French Resistance (We played them that way also at the Dutch open.)
- Use "Polish Dragoons" rules (Troops 27) for the Allied units with a cavalry token.
- Use "Specialized forces" rules (Troops 2) for the two Axis units in Zwierzyniec.
- As the tile is not available, play the hex marked with railroad crossing as mentioned.

Warning:
Please note that this scenario was not approved by Richard Borg or Days of Wonder, so you have to check yourself about playability, potential gaming issues, etc.
