Historical Background: After the crossing of the entire Malaya, Japanese troops were arrived in front of Johore Strait which isolate Singapore island. In the night of 07th to 08th of February 1942, Australians of 22nd Infantry Brigade (8th Australian Division) which were in fortified positions on the Sarimbun mangrove, opened fire on numerous Japanese landing craft approaching. In spite of severe losses due to this heavy fire, Japanese troops succeeded in landing and reduced one by one the Australian strong points, mainly by close combat. On the 9th of February, Tengah Airfield was captured. The last stage of the Singapore tragedy was begun. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
