Historical Background:
The Siegfried Line, known to the Germans as the Westwall, was a defense system that stretched for more than 390 miles with over 18,000 bunkers, tunnels, and tank trap. As the Allies raced across Europe through France, they seemed to be on an unstoppable push to Berlin. That all came to a grinding halt in the Hürtgen Forest. Months of hard fighting lay ahead. And the Siegfried Line, in all its ominous grandeur, lay waiting for them.

Conditions of Victory:
Victory Medals to win: 5. American units that break through the Siegfried Line may "exit" the board, earning a Victory Medal.
