Historical Background: During the night 6th to 7th of December 1943, while Romanian troops were reducing the Soviet beachhead at Eltigen, some Russian troops escaped breaking out the enemy lines in the north in an attempt to join the other Soviet beachhead at Ganikale. This battle group reached the suburbs of Kertch city and assaulted Mount Mithridate which overhang the city, destroying in the same time the German artillery batteries placed there. Unable to go farther, the Soviet soldiers entrenched on the hill with the hope of a future evacuation by sea... The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
