Historical Background: Battalion n°102 was, in the German army an auxiliary unit composed by Ukrainian soldiers fighting against Soviet partisans in the Eastern Front. This unit was sent in France in August of 1944, in the area of Vesoul. But Ukrainians soldiers didn't want to fight against French Resistance or US Army so they decided to desert and to pass on the Allied side. This occurred on the 27th of August and the BUK (Ukrainian Battalion) took refuge in the Confracourt forest with the help of the French Resistance. Persued by German units, the BUK moved to Cherlieu forest. On the 2nd of September, the BUK attacked a SS Cossack cavalry unit in the village of Melin. The attack was successful, the SS unit was destroyed and about twenty French hostages, expecting to be shoot, were freed. After this battle, the BUK withdraw in Confracourt forest and later joined the 1st French Army. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Conditions of Victory: 6 medals. Evacuation of hostages by the hexagon with the Exit token is a permanent medal objective for the Allied player.
Special Rules: - Use "French Resistance" rules (Nations 1) to all Allied units. Badges are not required. - Use "Cavalry" rules (Troops 8) to three Axis units with Cavalry badge. - Use "Freeing Prisoners" rules (Actions 7) to the battle star placed in the prison camp. This battle star represent French hostages. - Prison Camps (Terrains 35) represent the place were hostages were detained.
