Historical Background:
During the Greco-Italian war, the counter-offensive of November 1940 allowed to the Greek troops to advance deep in the Albanian territory, driving back Italian troops. Because of the length of the Greek logistics roads, the front was consolidate in front of Klisura in the Albanian mountains. The capture of Klisura Pass was a strategic objective for the Greek troops. On the 6th of January 1941, the 2nd Greek Army Corps attacked Klisura. On the other side, Italian troops used for the first time their new medium tank M13/40, but in this hilly ground, they suffered heavy losses. After four days of fierce battle, Greek infantrymen captured the Pass. Then the front was consolidated until April 1941, at the beginning of German operation "Marita".
