Historical Background: In order to help the Chinese fighting in Toungoo, General Slim, commander of the Burcorps, ordered to his troops to recapture the city of Paungde, fallen in Japanese hands. An Indian brigade and the 7th Hussars attacked Paungde from Prome but didn't succeed to recapture it. Moreover, a Japanese troop was already arrived in Shwedaung, cutting off their retreat line. On the 30th of March, the British column entered in Shwedaung and was quickly stopped by the wrecks of a destroyed convoy who blocked the way. A tank of 7th Hussars moved under Japanese fire and pushed the wrecks to clear the bridge. The tank was destroyed and all the crew was killed because of the concentration of Japanese fire on them, but the bridge was finally clear and the British column could cross it and reached Prome. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
