Historical Background: In June 1941, at the beginning of Operation exporter, the Australians of Brigadier Stevens, advanced on the coastal road, took the city of Tyr without any fighting and arrived in front of the Litani river. The failure of the Scottish commando operation implied that Australians had to fight for the crossing of the river. The defense was made by the 3rd battalion of the 22nd RTA under the command of Major Le Corné, entrenched on the hills which overhang the river. The French soldiers made a fierce resistance but with no reinforcement arrived, they were overwhelmed and surrendered. The defensive position of Kasmiyeh had stopped the Australians for two days. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
