Historical Background:
Contained by the french Army in front of Merdjayoun, the Australian brigade advanced through the mountain towards Jezzin. The Australians captured this city on the 14th of June and this capture was a real threat for Beyrouth. Colonel Barré, commander of the 6th Foreign Legion Regiment (Vichy Army) formed a battle-group with different units in order to recapture Jezzin. The battle began on the 17th of June. French Legion and Australian infantrymen fought fiercely without any result but heavy losses. In Jezzin, as the same in Merdjayoun, the battle became a war of position.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
