Historical Background: In early Spring 1942, the 2nd Soviet Shock Army was surrounded because the Germans had closed the gap on the Volkhov River. General Vlasov's troops tried to breakthrough to reopen the way to the rear. On the 31st of March, a new attack by infantry and tanks was made toward the "Erika" trail and Hill 692 defended by the Germans. This assault was driven back once again, the Soviet tanks had been destroyed by a 88mm gun, minefields and a Stukas air attack. And once again, they were heavy losses on the two sides. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Germany] : 6 command cards. Allied player [Soviet Union] : 6 command cards, you move first.
Conditions of Victory: 7 medals. The three hexes of Hill 692 form a Temporary Majority Medal Objective worth one Medal for whoever controls the hill. So the Axis player begins the game with one medal in his victory path.
Special Rules: - Use "Red Army" rules (Nation 2). - Use "Blitz" rules (Action 15). - Use "Heavy Anti-Tank Guns" rules (Troops 23) to the Axis artillery battery with 88 badge. - The Axis player lays out the minefields (Terrain 29).
