Historical Background: After the successful Operation Plunder which allowed to the British army to cross the lower Rhine on the 24th of March, the advance continued towards the north of Netherlands and Germany. The 8th British Armoured Brigade was the front unit during the battle. On the 28th of March, the city of Ijsselburg was in British hands. The 30th of March, during Operation Forrard on, the 4th Somerset Light Infantry had to take Varsseveld while the 12th King's Royal Rifle Corps had to capture Silvolde, the two infantry battalions were supported by tanks of the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards. The battle lasted all the day with some losses from the two sides. In the evening , the 12th KRRC was in Silvolde and the 4th SLI was in the outskirts of Varsseveld. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.

Conditions of Victory: 6 medals. The hexagons of Silvolde and Varsseveld marked by a medal token are each a temporary medal objective for the Allied player.
Special Rules: - Use "BCF Command" rules (Nations 5). - Special Weapon Asset rules (SWAs 4 - Special Weapon Assets>1942) are in effect for units equipped with Machine-Guns (SWAs 7). - Use "Heavy Anti-Tank Guns" rules (Troops 23) to the Axis artillery battery.
