Historical Background: In early November 1941, the Italian troops of the CSIR (Corpo di Spedizione Italiano in Russia) had reached the Donbass. Regiments 79 and 80 of the Infantry Division Pasubio were ordered to capture the industrial city of Gorlovka. On the 2nd of November, after a bitter street fighting against Soviet troops, the Italian infantrymen had captured the city. The 80th Regiment who had advanced to Nikitovka was surrounded during several days before to break the surrounding on the 6th of November and to withdraw to Italian lines on Gorlovka. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Italy] : 6 command cards, you move first. Allied player [Soviet Union] : 4 command cards.
Conditions of Victory: 6 medals. The two slag-heaps are each a temporary medal objective for the Axis player.
Special Rules: - Use "Red Army" rules (Nation 2). - Use "Italian Royal Army" rules (Nation 6) to all Axis units. Badges are not required. - Use "Blitz" rules (Action 15). - Use "Specialized Units" rules for the three Axis units with Elite badges (Troop 2). - Use "Sniper" rules (Troop 10) to the Soviet infantry unit with a sniper badge.
