Historical Background: After the armistice between Italy and the Allied in early September 1943, on the Greek island of Kefalonia, the germans asked to the Italians to give them their heavy armaments. Italian troops, awaiting orders from the new government in Italy, refused to give the weapons. That was the beginning of the tragedy, Italians would fight against their former allies. On the 15th of September, as the power strenght was for the italians, General Gandin ordered un attack against the Kampfgruppe Fault on the Monte Telegrapho and another against a German battalion in Razata. In spite of several bombing by the Luftwaffe, this first battle was an Italian victory as the Kampfgruppe Fault surrendered after a violent battle on the Monte Telegrapho and as the German battalion at Razata, was forced to withdraw to the north of the island. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
