Historical Background: In early June 1940, General Weygand, new French army commander ordered to hold the front line on the Somme river to the remaining units of the French Army Group n°3. This Weygand line was made by strong points on each village and each wood defended by infantry and artillery units. The aim of the defense was to separate German tanks which attacked in the first wave from the German infantry which arrived in the second wave, in this way it could be easy to counter-attack and to destroy the German tanks. This tactic was effective, the French troops fought bravely and inflicted heavy losses to the enemy. On the 5th and 6th June at Foucaucourt and Soyecourt, Infantrymen of the 41st Infantry Regiment stopped the German advance in spite of their numerical inferiority. The problem was the lack of French tanks to counter-attack the German panzers, so it means that the strong points were finally overwhelmed one by one. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
