Historical Background: After the capture of Roma on the 4th of june 1944, the French Expeditionary Corps in Italy (CEF) participated to the pursuit of German troops withdrawing to the north. From Tuscania and Viterbo on the 10th of June, the French troops bypassed the Bolsena Lake, the 3rd Algerian Infantry Division on the west and the 1st March Infantry Division (ex Free French Division) on the east, fighting against German rearguard and advancing on mined roads. The capture of Radicofani by the Free French was a major event in this advance who ended in Sienna on the 3rd of July. At that time, French troops were approaching of Firenze and unit by unit the French left the Italian campaign. They were planned to participate in "Operation Dragoon" the landing in South of France. A new adventure began. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Germany] : 5 command cards. Allied player [France] : 6 command cards, you move first.
Conditions of Victory: 12 medals for the Axis player. 12 medals for the French player, included the temporary medal objective in Radicofani or one unit leaving the board with the Exit hexagon "vers Sienne" (Actions 23).
Special Rules: - Use "French Infantry" rules (Nations 7) to all Allied infantry units. - Use "Mobile Artillery" rules (Troops 14) to Allied and Axis artillery units with Mobile artillery badge. - Use "Tiger" rules (Troops 16) to the Axis tank unit with a single figure and "Heavy Antitank Guns"(Troops 23) to the Axis artillery unit with antitank gun badge. - Use "Long Range Patrol Cars" (Troops 19) to the unit with this badge. - Special Weapon Asset rules (SWAs 4) are in effect for the infantry units equipped with an antitank weapons (SWAs 5). - The Axis player lays out the minefields (Terrains 29).
