Historical Background: After the attack by the 10.Panzer division toward Medjez el Bab in the early December 1942, German troops controlled the Djebel Ahmar, named "Longstop Hill" by the Allies. General Anderson, commander of the 1st British Army, ordered to the 78th British Infantry Division to capture this strategic hill. On the 22 December, the Coldstream Guards battalion, supported by one battalion of the 18th US Infantry Regiment, advanced to the djebel under heavy rain. The German defenders were one battalion of the Infanterie Regiment 754 and one battalion of the PanzerGrenadier Regiment 69, they could not stay on the ridge and they withdrew to the Djebel el Rhar. The Coldstream Guards, exhausted by the battle, were relieved by the US battalion. At that time, the Germans launched their counter-attack, repelled the Americans soldiers and retake the positions on the ridge of Ahmar. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
