Historical Background: During the Soviet landing at Grigorevka, on the 22nd September 1941, to destroy the Romanian artillery batteries firing on Odessa, a detachment of 25 paratroopers was dropped on the rear of the enemy, next to Hill 57,3. Strong winds and limited visibility resulted in only a fraction of the force reaching the assembly area. So several paratroopers were forced to act alone. In spite of heavy losses, the Soviet paratroopers commanded by Starshina Kuznetsov succeeded to destroy a Romanian regimental HQ and then to join the landed Soviet troops at Grigorevka. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
