Historical Background: After their successful landing on Tinian, on the 24th of July 1944, the Marines of the 4th Marine Division were waiting for the Japanese usual counter-attack. It occurred in the following night, but was divided in three separated attacks without any coordination. The first attack was on the left flank of the US bridgehead and was quickly repelled. The second one was in the center and the Japanese advanced deeper in the Marines defenses before to be killed. And the last attack was on the right flank, in front of the positions of the 23rd Marines. Six Japanese light tanks (on the twelve presents in Tinian) supporting about 500 infantrymen of the 50th Infantry Regiment, were advancing on the coastal trail between the beach White 2 and Mount Maga. Marines' bazookas and Anti-Tank guns (37mm) destroyed easily the tanks and the Japanese infantry was stopped by the fire of light weapons and the naval artillery support. The battle had cost about one hundred KIA or wounded for the Marines and more than 1240 killed to the Japanese. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
