Historical Background:
In Brittany, on the 25th of August 1944, about 200 German soldiers of the Audierne strong point tried to escape toward Brest via the Crozon peninsula. They had to reach the small creek of Pors Lesven to be evacuate by German ships. The French Resistance (Kléber FTP company and Surcouf FFI company) closed the access to the beach and at 02h00 in the morning of the 26 August, the battle began. The Germans blocked in the Kervigodou hamlet, counter-attacked toward Lesven hamlet. The battle stayed indecisive during the morning but the Resistance received some reinforcement in the afternoon and made a major attack on Kervigodou at 17h00. Gradually, German soldiers surrendered and the battle was over at 19h30.
