Historical Background:
After the fall of Bir Hakeim, Rommel was able to look after thz British armoured brigades which harassed continually his troops in the "Cauldron". The 21.Panzer Division was attacking first with the support of "Semoventi" of the Italian Ariete division. The 4th Armoured Brigade lost 20 tanks just before to be attacked again by the 15.Panzer Division arriving from the South. This brigade left the battlefield virtually destroyed. Then the 15.Panzer Division collided with the 2nd Armoured Brigade which withdraw with heavy losses. Finally the 21.Panzer Division surprised the 22nd Armoured Brigade which emerged from behind the Knightsbridge "Box" and inflicted too several losses. In the evening of 12th June, the British had lost more than 120 tanks and Rommel, whose troops had suffered only light losses, had gain the superiority in number.
