Historical Background: After the tank battle around Knightsbridge and the fall of this strongpoint, British units who were still on the Gazala line could be surrounded and then destroyed. Major-General Ramsden, commander of the 50th Northumbrian Division, ordered to his brigades to make a night attack on the Italian positions, to breakthrough and then to rally the Egypt border by bypassing the battlefield in the south. This was called Operation Freeborn. In the night 14th to 15th of June, British infantrymen attacked roughly the positions of the Division Brescia and made a breakthrough in the lines of the Italian Xth Corps. this breach permitted to the British motorized columns to flee to Egypt. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
