Historical Background: 18th of July 1944, Operation Goodwwood, the tanks of the 11th Armoured Division broke easily the first German defense line, crushed by a tremendous carpet bombing. But they were stopped in front of Bourguebus ridge by a shield of numerous anti-tank guns and several counter-attacks of German tanks. A great number of British tanks were destroyed and the advance was stopped. The 19th of July in the afternoon, the Rifle Brigade was ordered to capture the villages of Bras and Hubert-Folie, with the support of tanks of the 2nd Northants Yeomanry and 3rd RTR. In spite of the fierce resistance made by a panzergrenadier battalion of 1.SS Panzer Division "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler", the motorized infantrymen of the Rifle Brigade captured the two objectives. However, the breakthrough asked by General Montgomery in the Caen sector had failed with heavy losses in British tanks and crews. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
