Historical Background: In early June 1940, the 27th Alpine Infantry Division fought on the Somme River and Aisne River. On the 8th of June, the 28th BCA (Alpine Infantry Battalion), with the 11th BCA on its left, was ordered to retake the Mont-de-Soissons farm, occupied by German troops of the Infanterie Regiment 13 (25.ID). With the support of some ACG1 Renault light tanks (AMC 35), the Alpine infantrymen attacked with bayonets in open field. They suffered heavy losses before to reach the farm and to fight in close combat. Four tanks were destroyed by enemy antitank guns and a strong German counter-attack recaptured finally the farm. For the French Alpine troops, the only bravery was not enough to win the enemy superior in number. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
