Historical Background: Fictional scenario (or nearly). Winter 1943-44,somewhere in Russia. To break the "Winter linie", main German line of defense, the Soviet army attacked with assault waves of infantry, supported by tank units and a strong artillery fire. This scenario is based on the memory of a "Malgré nous", French veteran from Alsace region, incorporated in the German army during the WW2. He was at that time, a servant of a light machine-gun (MG-34 or MG-42) and saw waves of Russian infantrymen facing to him and attacking German defensive positions. He survived of the war, although he was injured and had a leg amputated, became professor in philosophy and sometimes told his history to his students, that's the way I knew this story in 1982. I don't remember where it was and the exact date, but it was in winter... The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Germany] : 5 command cards. Allied player [Soviet Union] : 5 command cards, you move first.
Conditions of Victory: 7 medals. The village is a temporary medal objective for the Allied player.

Scenario Bibliography: This scenario is almost fictional, based on the memory of a French veteran, obliged to serve under German uniform during the war because he was Alsacian.
