Historical Background:
On the 28th of November, the Blade Force (reinforced with US armored battalions) failed its attack on the city of Djedeida but the British controlled Tebourba with the 2nd Hampshire on Djebel Maïana (Hill 186), the bridge on the Medjerda River with 1st East Surrey at El Bathan and the village of Chouigui. German general Fischer, commander of the 10.Panzer Division, was ordered to clear the threat on Djedeida. He divided his unit in three Kampfgruppe : Group Lueder and Group Hudel had to attack Chouigui and Group Djedeida with the support of two Tiger tanks had to attack Djebel Maïana. In the same time, German paratroopers of Kampfgruppe Koch had to attack El Bathan. The German attack began on the 1st of December and during three days the German tightened their troops around Tebourba to cut off the Blade Force. Allied troops suffered heavy losses in tanks and had to evacuate Tebourba on the night of 3rd December. The next day, the Germans controlled the city with the junction of the four Kampfgruppe, a full German victory !
