Historical Background:
At the beginning of the offensive of XII US ARmy Corps, on the 8th of November, the 101st Infantry (26th ID) was ordered to capture the bridge of Moyenvic on the Seille River, then to take Hill 310 (Mont Saint Jean) defended by IR.953 and a battalion of engineers. The US soldiers captured quickly the bridge but were pinned down in front of Hill 310 by the heavy fire of machine-guns entrenched at the top of the hill. Three days of intensive fighting were necessary to capture Hill 310, fiercely defended by the Germans. The cost of this battle was around 500 losses for the 101st Infantry, killed or wounded.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
