Historical Background: Axis troops under the command od Rommel arrived in front of Kasserine Pass on the 19th February 1943, the Pass was defended by US troops of Ltc Stark, called Stark Force and entrenched in the valley and on the high ground of Djebel Chambi and Djebel Semmama. On the 2th February, the Kampfgruppe Bülovius du Deutsche Afrika Korps made an attack in force. The US defense was fierce but at the end of the day the Stark Force could not resist any more. After crossing the Pass, Axis troops divided in two groups : the Kampfgruppe 10.Panzer Division on the right advancing on the road to Thala and the Kampfgruppe Bülovius with Italian troops of the "Centauro" on the left of Hatab River, towards Tebessa. The 10.Panzer fought to the Gore Force, a British vanguard before Thala while Italians and the Kampfgruppe of DAK were stopped by US troops of the CCB near Djebel Hamra. The capture of Kasserine Pass was a tactical success for Rommel but the "Frühlingswind" offensive was definitively stopped and Rommel had to order the withdrawal of Axis troops. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
