Historical Background: On the 23rd of March, the 10.Panzer Division under the command of General von Broich attacked the defensive positions of the 1st US Infantry Division "Big Red One" in the plain of El Guettar. In the morning, the Germans captured the US first lines. Then the battle evolved in favor of US troops when the German tanks entered in a minefield under the fire of US artillery and tank destroyers of the 899th TD Battalion well placed on high ground. After a day of fierce fighting, the victory was for the US side. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Germany] : 6 command cards, you move first. Allied player [United States] : 6 command cards.
Conditions of Victory: 12 medals. For the Axis player, use the "Exit" token rules (Action 23) to the road hexagon marked "vers Gafsa".
Special Rules: - Use "Specialized Units" rules (Troops 2) to all Axis infantry units with Elite badges and for the US Rangers unit. Badges are not required for German units. - Use "Combat Engineer" rules for the two German units with engineer badge (Troops 4). - Use "Mobile Artillery" rules (Troops 14) for the two Axis artillery units and two US units with badges. - Use "Tank Destroyers" rules (Troops 24) to the three US armored units with TD badge. - The Allied player lays out the minefields (Terrains 29). Mines : 2x0, 3x1, 2x2, 1x3, 1x4. - Use "Night Attacks" rules (Actions 19). - This scenario could be play with New Flight Plan rules.
