Historical Background:
During Operation Vulcan, the 4th British Infantry Division fought against the German paratroopers of the Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 5, west of Medjez-el-Bab. From the 28th of April, a German Kampfgruppe with 48 Fallschirmjägers of the IIIrd battalion resisted obstinately in a fortified farm called "Cactus Farm", near the road Medjez-el-Bab to Furna. On the 1st of May, anew british attack was made by 1st Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment and same Churchill tanks of the 12th RTR. The German paratroopers under the command of Feldwebel Schaefer repelled the Brits once again destroying about 12 Churchill tanks with anti-tank mines and molotov cocktails. Cactus Farm was captured by the British troops only the 3rd of May, after the withdrawal of Kampfgruppe Schaefer.
