Historical Background: 09th of December 1940 - Nibeiwa camp. After the timorous Italian offensive in September 1940 which took Graziani's troops to Sidi Barrani in Egypt, British general Wawell ordered to general O'Connor, chief of the "Western Desert Force" to counter attack the Italian troops. On the 09th of December 1940, in the morning, 7th RTR (Royal Tank Regiment) and 4th Indian Division attacked Nibeiwa camp where was the "Maletti Group", the mobile elements of Graziani's army. For the Italians, the surprise was total when Matildas tanks crushed barbed wire and entered in the camp, firing on all objectives. General Maletti was killed in action as using himself a machine-gun. Italian gunners were killed heroicly on their guns, even if they stopped half of the British tanks. When Indian infantry entered in the camp, the Italian resistance weaked quickly and finally stopped, surrendering all the Maletti Group. For the Italians, it was the beginning of a long rout which ended in February 1941 with the Beda Fomm defeat. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
