Historical Background:
At the beginning of the Allied landing in Salerno, the British commandos captured Molina Pass and the neighboring hills to secure the northern flank of the beachhead. The 41st Royal Marine commando hold the pass and 2 Commando of Ltc Jack Churchill "Mad Jack" entrenched on the hills around the village of Dragonea. On the 13th of September, German troops coming from Naples attacked the commandos positions with the objective to reach Salerno beaches. The battle was fierce for all the day. In spite of the heavy fire of Nebelwerfers and the assault of German paratroopers and panzer grenadiers, the commandos stayed in their positions. However, the losses were heavy for the two sides.
