Historical Background:
After a first battle versus the defensive line on the heights of Toudountovo, south of Stalingrad, the 4.Panzer Armee under the command of General Hoth changed its attack and launched the 48. Armee Korps against Gavrilovka. On the 30th of August, the German armored units broke the Soviet line and made a bridgehead, allowing the 24.Panzer Division to advance towards the southern suburbs of Stalingrad. The battle for the city of Stalingrad could begin.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Briefing:
Axis player [Germany] : 6 command cards, you move first.
Allied player [Soviet Union] : 5 command cards.

Conditions of Victory:
6 medals.
Exit markers are in effect on the whole Allied baseline, for the Axis forces (Actions 23).

Special Rules:
- Use "Specialized Units" rules (Troops 2) to all Axis infantry units. Badges are not required.
- Use "Blitz" rules (Actions 15).
- The Allied player lays out the minefields (Terrains 29).
- The Karpovka River is fordable (Terrains 41).
