Phase 2 of the German offensive was the capture of Aprilia (The Factory) held by some units of the 1st British Infantry Division. On the 9th of February , the 65.Infanterie Division attacked the British defenses of Buon Riposo Ridge with the support of some "Hornisse" jagdpanzers. Kampfgruppe Gräzer, made of mechanized troops of the 29.Panzer Grenadier Division and a battalion of "Panther" tanks of the Panzer Regiment.4, attacked directly Aprilia. At the end of the day, the Factory and Carroceto station had fallen in German hands. An allied counter-attack recapture soon the Carroceto station. On the 10th of February, the German offensive slowed down it, the mud delayed all movement and losses had been heavy for each part, but the Germans had reach their objective and could prepare the following phase, Operation Fischfang, the overall attack on the Allied bridgehead.
