Historical Background: 10th of December 1940 - Sidi Barrani. After the British attack at Nibeiwa and the destruction of Maletti Group, Italians didn't have any armored units in Egypt and their infantry was to the mercy of British mobile forces of general O'Connor. So, two Italian divisions were isolated and attacked : the 4th "Camicia Nere" Division at Sidi Barrani and 1st Libyan Division at Maktila. In addition to that, these two cities were under the fire of two monitors of the Royal Navy. Maktila was attacked by Selby Force and Sidi Barrani by 16th Infantry Brigade with the support of 7th RTR (Royal Tank Regiment) and 4th Armored Brigade. During all the day, Italians resisted to the British assaults, inflicting some casualties to them, but around 16h00, tanks of 4th Armored Brigade, crushed on their tracks, Italian guns and gunners. Before night, Italian garrisons surrendered. O'Connor was, at that time, free to exploit his success and to continue his advance to the Libyan border. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
