Historical Background:
Operation Störfang lasted from a couple of weeks and 54.Armee Korps reached the north edge of the Severnaia bay after a long battle which decimated German troops. Sevastopol was still in Russian hands, the defense of the city was based on several strongpoints and the most famous was Sapun ridge. General Manstein decided to finish this exhausting battle by a daring "coup de main". In the night of 28th of June 1942, assault troops of 22.ID crossed the Severnaia bay by assault boats and landed on the wharfs before entering in the center of the city along the railway. In spite of a very hard defense, Russian soldiers didn't succeed to stop the German troops. Sevastopol fall down on the 30th of June and the last soviet units surrendered not before the 04th of July in Kherson peninsula. For the capture of Sevastopol, General Manstein was promoted General Feldmarschall by Hitler.
