There are problems with this scenario: it cannot be set-up using the standard terrain tiles of Memoir '44 and the selected extensions. There are too many terrains of one or more types. Please contact the author.

Historical Background:
May 1, 1945 after the fall of the Reichstag the surviving German units defending Berlin regrouped in the Tiergarten (animal garden = zoo). There they were joined by other German resistance forces including the last Tiger tanks. In the evening the order was given for a breakout in three directions. Units that managed to escape westward made a 20+ km march to surrender to US forces in Spandau.

German forces are attempting to break out by reaching the three exit areas.

Russian forces are attempting to deny German forces from escaping.

Conditions of Victory:
The scenario is played to 7 medals.

Special Rules:
Remove Air Power and Air Sortie cards from the deck.

German forces gain one medal for each unit that escapes and an additional medal for each full strength unit that escapes through the Russian side of the board.

German units are in a desperate plight, when a flag is rolled against them they have the option of retreating or holding ground and losing one figure for each flag.

Two Eastern Front expansions are needed for the ruins tiles, if not available use five green forest tiles from the base set and treat them as city ruins.

Please note that this scenario was not approved by Richard Borg or Days of Wonder, so you have to check yourself about playability, potential gaming issues, etc.
