Historical Background:
At the beginning of 1945, Japanese suffered military setbacks in the whole Pacific front. To protect the rear, Japanese troops attacked by surprise all the French garrisons in Indochina. In the night of 9th of March 1945, at Lang Son, the Japanese military staff invited to an official dinner all French civilian and military authorities of the garrison. At the end of the dinner, they took prisoner the French guests and then executed them by beheading. In the same time, 10 000 Japanese soldiers assaulted the Citadel and the neighbouring fortresses. The battle lasted more than 20 hours and the French soldiers fought until the last cartridge. After their surrender, Japanese troops executed all prisoners by sabre and bayonet.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
