Historical Background: On the first days of operation Barbarossa, the Gebirgsjägers (German mountain troops) of 49.Gebirgs Korps attached to XVII.Armee of general von Stulpnagel, advanced towards the city of Lemberg (Lviv) driving back troops of the Russian 6th Army of general Musytshenko. Approaching the suburbs of the city, the Gebirgsjägers had to face at an armored counter-attack by T-34 soviet tanks. Although surprised by the attack, the Gebirgsjägers succeeded in destroying the tanks and entered in Lemberg on the 30th of June 1941. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Germany] : 6 command cards, you move first. Allied player [Soviet Union] : 5 command cards.
Conditions of Victory: 6 medals. The fortress of Lemberg is a permanent medal objective for the Axis player.
