Historical Background: In the early 1945, the Oleron island was part of the German Atlantic pockets in western France. French general de Larminat was in charge to prepare Operation Jupiter, the last Allied landing in Europe of the WW2 to liberate the island. On the 30th of April at 06h00 AM, French troops on US made LCVP landed on the full mined Gatseau Beach. Once combat engineers had opened some ways in the minefields, under the enemy fire, French marine infantry troops assaulted the German defense on the beach. In the morning, French troops captured the artillery bunker RO 506 Hase at Gatseau Point then the sea rescue house. In the afternoon, the forester house was captured after a violent fighting. At the end of the day, a large bridgehead was realized on Oleron to continue the battle. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. the rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Germany] : 5 command cards. Allied player [France] : 6 command cards, you move first.
Conditions of Victory: 6 medals. The forest house and the bunker RO 506 Hase are each a temporary medal objective for the Allied player.
Special Rules: - Use "Combat Engineers" rules (Troops 4) to the 4 Allied units with engineer badge. - The Axis player lays out the minefields (Terrains 29).
