Historical Background:
In New Georgia, when on the 1st of August 1943, US soldiers of the XIVth US Corps succeeded to capture Bartley Ridge and Shimizu Hill, the battle was almost won, Munda airfield was on hand. They needed nevertheless five days to capture the last Japanese defenses, particularly the antiaircraft guns on Bibilo Hill and the tunnels of Kokengolo Hill. Finally,in the afternoon of the 05th of August, US General Hodge received this message from one of his officer : "Munda is yours, today 14h10". The main objective on the island was captured, the most difficult part of the New Georgia campaign was over.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Axis player [Japan] : 4 command cards.
Allied player [United States] : 6 command cards, you move first.

Conditions of Victory:
6 medals.
Munda Point is a permanent medal objective for the Allied player.

Special Rules:
- Use "Japanese Imperial Army" rules (Nations 3).
- Use "Air Strikes & Blitz" rules (Actions 3) to the Allied player.
- Special Weapon Asset rules (SWAs 4 - Special Weapon Assets) are in effect for the units equipped with mortars (SWAs 6 - Mortar Late War) or machine guns (SWAs 7 - Machine Gun Late War).
- Use "Case on Hills" rules (Terrains 52).
