What would be the most fun/logical order to buy the expansion packs in?!
Or should I buy another base game to play overlord maps with (or am I completely wrong on this)

That's a hard question because so many of the new Overlord scenarios require extra stuff.
But The Next is personal preference, Russians or Japanese???
Both are very good.
after that, Terrain pack and Brits Med pack.
they are a great combo for the north Africa stuff.
Really depends on what front you want to explore first?

Personally I bought the Eastern front closley followed by the Med pack and the winter/desert boards to go with them both. Although the Pacific pack is fun and would save you buying the board expansion as it uses the base game boards. I know that the winter/desert boards aren't vital for the eastern and med fronts as not all the scenarios use them but they add so much to the asthetic of this glorious game. Quick mention to the terrain pack as it has so many new tiles to add to the game....
...Ok I will stop here as im sure i will just end up rattling off everything before i finish Welcome to the wonderful world of memoir 44. This forum is a great self help group for addicts of the game

Yes, both guys put a lot of work into those resources! I'm glad they're helpful for a new player to the game.
Whenever you have a chance, Jed, you should choose a unique User Name so we can remember who you are a little more easily. Trying to remember 'player####' is almost impossible!!!
Also, I don't know if you've discovered it yet but a computer version of Memoir '44 is now available! It can be downloaded for free from here and we would all be happy to see you on the battle field. Enjoy!

Happy you found it useful, Jed.
Another useful document is the official FAQ compiled by rasmussen81. Find it here:

I have found both those documents very useful.
I will also point you to the list I made on BGG which details the value to people who want to add a few expansions vs the value you get if and when you have all the expansions.

If you like this game you will eventually end up buying everything.
I would suggest that (as some expansions go out of print) you buy the oldest ones first and leave the newest ones till last.
Some are already out of print and very hard to get hold of, so keep an eye out for those on eBay.

Ebay has been a great source for me to find extra copies of the expansions/base games at a discount. For those that may have harder to find coin the savings can be a godsend
