Historical Background:
After the liberation of Sienna by the French Corps ("Siennna will not be shelled" had said the French General Juin), the Moroccan riflemen of the 10th company/4th RTM were on the first line on Belvedere Hill, south-east of Poggibonsi. On the 12th of July, one German airborne battalion of the 11.Fallschirmjäger Regiment, with the support of some tanks, attacked the hill. The riflemen were supported by the heavy fire of the 63rd Artillery Regiment who fired just behind the lines. Finally Belvedere Hill was not captured by the German paratroopers. The next day, the Moroccan found behind their lines eight destroyed tanks and 80 enemies killed. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
