Historical Background:
After the crossing of the Somme river, the 7.Panzer Division under the command of General Rommel made a rush towards Rouen. Rommel's next objective was to cross the Andelle river by the bridge of Sigy-en-Bray. But a British Brigade under the command of General Crocker, 1st Armoured Division, was in the Andelle front-line and blew the bridge just in front of the German motocyclists vanguard. The Germans tried then to use a ford for crossing the river but a tank broke down in the middle of the ford and blocked the way. Finally Rommel was informed that the bridge of Normanville was not blown and he ordered to a battle group to bypass the British defense at Sigy-en-Bray. Under the threaten of surrounding, the British Brigade withdrew to the Seine river.
