Historical Background: Mussolini, who met with Hitler at Salzburg on the 18th of January, knew the Germans would attack Greece in March. He needed a victory against the Greeks before that time and ordered General Cavallero to launch an offensive as soon as possible. The Italian troops attacked on the 25th of January with the objective of recapturing Klissoura (Kelcyre). Attacking from hill 1923, the Italians captured hill 1620 on the 26th and threatened the city. But the 2nd Greek Army Corps counter-attacked and, once again, repulsed the Italian advance beyond their starting point. With snow falling and temperatures dropping to -20°C, the operations were stopped on the front line. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
